Who we are

Scratch is a daily golf puzzle game operated by Swingpath (swingpath.live). You can contact us at privacy@swingpath.live.

What data we collect and why

  • Anonymous puzzle results — guess count, solved or not, puzzle ID. These are not linked to any person. We use them to power the global stats page.
  • Leaderboard registrations — if you choose to join the leaderboard, we store your chosen username and a one-way hash of your email address. We cannot read your email address back from the hash. Your handicap score is also stored.
  • localStorage / cookies — we use your browser's localStorage to remember your game state (guesses, streak, handicap) between sessions. This is strictly necessary for the game to work and does not require consent.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — we use Google Analytics in cookieless mode to understand how people use Scratch (page views, game completion rates). No personally identifying data is collected.

What we do not do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We never share your data with third parties for marketing.
  • We cannot email leaderboard users — email addresses are hashed before storage and unreadable to us.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Leaderboard email hashing

When you join the leaderboard, your email address is converted to a SHA-256 hash before being stored. A hash is a one-way transformation — we cannot reverse it to recover your email. This means we can check whether an email is already registered (by hashing and comparing) but we can never read or use your actual email address.

How long we keep data

Anonymous puzzle results are retained for up to 90 days. Leaderboard data is kept until you request deletion.

Your right to erasure

You have the right to request deletion of your leaderboard account and all associated data. To do so, email privacy@swingpath.live with the subject "Delete my account" and your username. We will process your request within 30 days.

Google Analytics opt-out

Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode on this site. If you still wish to opt out, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
